Trainee
I joined Danske Markets 2007 as a trainee in Stockholm. My trainee seat lasted for six month and I spent my time at different desks in Stockholm and Copenhagen. The trainee period was very rewarding and gave me a good understanding of Danske Markets. I got to know many of my colleagues at Markets. After my trainee period I worked a short period in the Debt Capital Markets sales team before moving to the trading desk in Stockholm, where I am currently working with long-end derivatives trading.

Background
I hold a Bachelor of Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney. My education has provided me with a solid understanding of finance, which is of great value in my daily work. However, there is, of course, a lot to learn on the spot. I come across and learn new things every day. Things that I could never have learned in school. My time in Australia also improved my English language skills, orally as well as written, which is of great value in my daily communication with colleagues from other departments, international clients and brokers.
Via back-office and middle office
Before I came to Danske Bank I had no experience from trading. I worked at an investment bank in Stockholm, where I had positions in back office and middle office. I worked at there for almost six years before, during and after my studies.
My daily tasks
In my day-to-day work I deal primarily with Swedish interest rate swaps. Our clients are large corps, institutional clients such as pension, mortgage and insurance companies, and smaller clients like real-estate companies and municipalities. In trading we are to deliver the best possible price for the client at any time. Profit and loss is calculated as a real-time PnL, meaning that we can always follow how well we are doing at any point of time. That makes our performance clear and understandable.
Every day is a new challenge for me. I take pride in working in the best bank in the Nordic region. My colleagues have an incredible experience and knowledge, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn from them.
By tradition Markets have been dominated by men. I welcome more women in Markets both in trading and sales. I think Danske Markets would benefit from a better mix of employees from both genders.
Leisure When I was younger I competed in figure skating and I also went to ballet school. Nowadays my biggest hobby is yoga. It challenges me both physically and mentallyuse some of the time |
